Who We Are

Paul French
I have been in private practice as a Building Surveyor for over 20 years.
Having successfully built and led a multi-discipline team for one
of the UK’s top property consultancies, I created Set Square in order to
develop strong and effective relationships with clients who value my approach to
surveying: a hands-on personal commitment to every project.

Jonathan Bayliss
I am a Chartered Building Surveyor and have over 10 years experience working
in private and public sector organisations.  In particular, my experience with local
authority property services gives me an insight into how these organisations
operate and the exceptional commitment of their staff, often under very
difficult circumstances.  Having worked with Paul for several years,
the opportunity to bring this knowledge together in Set Square provides the ability
to offer our clients a truly holistic solution.

Andrew Murtough
I graduated as a Building Surveyor in 1997, having spent many years working
in the construction trades. This valuable experience influences my approach and
understanding of the construction process and the important role contractors
play. I am committed to adding value for clients through effective project
management and communication. I have known and worked with Paul
and Jonathan for several years, and know that our combined approach offers
a winning formula.

Mathew Vesey
Matthew is a Chartered Building Surveyor with over 20 years experience.
He specialises in adding value through focussed due diligence advice,
and undertook the surveys of both 30 St Mary's Axe (The Gherkin) and the
Kamppi retail complex in Helsinki

Samantha Joyce
I am the Practice Administrator for Set Square. I am currently taking my
accountancy qualifications at Greenwich Community College. I have worked
with Paul, Jonathan and Andy since 2005 and understand how I can help each
operate and work more effectively by organising efficient office support.  I also
manage the day to day financial issues of the business and value the regular
contact this gives me with our clients and suppliers.

Tom Cherry

I am a graduate Building Surveyor from University of Plymouth. I have previously
worked within a London architectural practice on development and refurbishment
projects, and also for a Housing Association where I managed repair and
maintenance contracts.
