Energy performance & sustainability
What we do
Our knowledge of modern materials and methods of construction include those which create low energy and energy efficient structures. This stems from training in BREEAM assessment which through common sense, early specification of appropriate materials and systems allows energy efficient enhancements to be incorporated in a project with minimal additional outlay avoiding installing such measures as an afterthought.
In addition we are able to liaise with specialist providers of energy performance certificates to analyse existing structures.
Our approach
When considering a refurbishment or new building construction, we will endeavour to provide
the best possible advice to the client with regard to energy efficient and low carbon materials.
- Our understanding of the BREEAM process and the BRE's Green Guide to Specification
with its classification of construction materials in relation to their energy efficiency and
enables us to advise clients appropriately. - Often these energy efficient and/or recycled materials can be procured at little or no extra
cost to traditional, less energy efficient materials. - Our understanding of such matters also allows us to identify areas of existing premises
that would benefit from enhancement in relation to energy efficiency and thermal insulation. - In addition to understanding energy efficiency materials, our construction knowledge
extends to how best to employ these to avoid un anticipated issues as excessive
internal condensation.
